In 1954, Erik Jørgensen established a workshop in the town of Svendborg. Originally trained as a saddler and upholsterer, he wanted to apply his craft skills and knowledge of materials to his passion for furniture.
Erik Jørgensen’s sublime understanding of materials and his passion for simple design resulted in a number of classic popular sofas that later became the archetype of the Danish box sofa.
By linking his skills, his knowledge and market trends, Erik Jørgensen founded what is now both an international furniture company and a family business run by the second generation.
