‘To us, design is a combination of function, form and production technique. The intention is to always create the perfect mix by bringing these three aspects together. Delphi is a great example of this. We are proud to be able to celebrate the decennium for the Delphi sofa, which has already been deemed a classic due to its iconic design’ says Niels Jørgensen, CEO, Erik Jørgensen Møbelfabrik.

Delphi equals quality and minimalistic design and is the epitome of a true Erik Joergensen sofa, with beautiful upholstery details.

Delphi can be designed from 16 different modules, which allows you to obtain your very own unique sofa combination. The modules can be put together to accommodate a large family, when you need room for everyone to gather. It can also appear as the classic 2- or 3-seater sofa.

It is all about the details

A distinctive exclusive detail is the possibility to have the plinth of the sofa upholstered in a different material to the sofa. The plinth can also be produced in oak, thereby beautifully complimenting the solid oak legs, giving the sofa a warmer and more Nordic look.

A special characteristic of the Delphi sofa is the stitching in the cushions. The stitching can also be made in a contrasting colour, which enhances the sofa’s craftsmanship, adding a distinctive and personal look.

Delphi – Center of the World

Hannes Wettstein and Niels Jørgensen wanted to create a sofa that could become the perfect center for relaxed socializing. They agreed on the name Delphi for the sofa, inspired by the history of ancient Greece, where the town of Delphi was the center of the world. Here people from all nations met to enjoy each other’s company. The hard marble benches from back then can now be replaced with the comfortable sofa. Global understanding and positive socialization were important values for Hannes Wettstein. Delphi was meant as a frame for that.

’Hannes Wettstein and I met at a little historic café in Milan in the furniture street “Via Durini”, where a lot of furniture creations through time have seen the light of day as sketches on the back of a napkin. Here we agreed on the concept and afterwards continued the work from Wettstein’s drawing office in Zürich. The finalization took place in our factory in Svendborg’ explained Niels Jørgensen.

Delphi is a beautiful fusion of Swiss precision and quality and Danish craftsmanship. The many precise details and the superbly rounded expression have resulted in the birth of a classic.
