Keel by Lise Vester is a simple coffee table that is organically shaped and where volume is essential.
The thought of how an otherwise flat and angular table concept can be transformed into something round and soft has been played with, and there is an exciting construction under the tabletop, a place that rarely attracts attention. The name is inspired by the keel of a boat, which stretches all the way under the surface of the water from the stern to the aft. The keel keeps the ship in balance and prevents capsize. The table is also kept together by the keel, which provides a beautiful detail under the top. The table seems to be both light and heavy, depending on the angle from which it is contemplated.
Keel is designed by young talent Lise Vester, who in 2018 received three awards, including the award as Talent of the Year at the Bo Bedre Design Awards.
The table, which was presented for the first time during Salone del Mobile in 2019, is Lise Vester’s first collaboration with Erik Jørgensen.
