The design duo Ernst & Jensen have expanded the Insula table collection with the new Piccolo Wood. Piccolo Wood is a beautiful addition to the popular collection, which was first introduced in 2009. This time, the pillar-based side table has been designed with a significant table top in solid wood, which accentuates and highlights the iconic design.
Piccolo means ‘little helper’ and the small side table easily fits next to the lounge chair or sofa, in the hallway and even in the bedroom as a bedside table.
With its new design in wood as well as the milling detail, the table is revitalised. The dimensions are inspired by strength and stability. The organic shape adds a natural sense of warmth to the table, while the solid top and foot complement it, creating a sturdier look as a result.
‘By designing the table in solid wood for the first time, we have provided an added warmth to the furniture. The high quality and the minimalistic look enhance the Nordic appearance in the design,’ explains designer Anne-Mette Bartholin Jensen.
Just like the original Piccolo side table in aluminium, the new Piccolo Wood is available in two heights: 38 cm and 58 cm.
‘The two heights create an interesting composition and, accompanied by the original Insula coee tables in lacquered aluminium, both tables truly show their beautiful worth,’ says Anne-Mette.
The Insula collection can be used as a cafe, sofa, dining or conference table. The many options and the beautiful minimalistic design make the table a natural fit in the private home, the hotel and the restaurant, as well as in the office
